Default Avalanche Spark Plugs and wires

So its time to change my plugs and I decided to change the wires as well, just have one question...I removed the first wire and plug and was wondering if it was necessary to keep the P.I.T.A metal boot? I really don't see the need for it, and if I ever have to change the plugs again I really don't want to have to take these stupid things out again. Any input helps, starting in the AM.

Yes. Keep the metal boots installed. It is a heat shield to protect the plugs and wires. It will prolong the life of the wires.

I would say if you can use it with your new wires, yes use them. As stated by TimberWolf it just gives you added insurance to protect you new wires
