Default No fire, no start

Had to replace an intake gasket on my 94 chevy stepside with a 350. Align my timing marks TDC on the harmonic balancer and wired my plug wires per GM's firing order. Verified plug wires were at correct location. Is it possible the reason I get a no start is because I aligned my timing marks on the intake stroke, vs. the compression stroke on #1 ?

Thanks in advance
