Default 1997 c1500 v6 swap to v8

I have a built chevy 350 that i just built from the ground up and just have a few questions about a swap into a 1997 c1500 4.3l 5speed

The truck i was building the motor for is just too far gone so i want to do a v8 conversion.

Motor is a 1978 chevy 350 397010

Here are my concerns.

Motor mounts for the 4.3l are diffrent i was just going to use my 78 chevy v8 mounts (should be a direct bolt in)

flywheel/clutch 4.3l is only an 11in and 5.7l is 12in clutch/flywheel. Going to buy a new flywheel and clutch for v8 motor for the nv3500

Radiator, sensors ect... no problem taken care off already

can i use the stock sending unit/computer if i regulated it to correct psi for carb?? Im thinking stock fuel pump wont engage with out engine crank signal (run own power supply to pump???)

Those are my main concerns any help or info would be greatly appreciated??

I imagine you will have to bypass the crank sensor, shouldnt be too hard or run a new circuit for the fuel pump. A regulator will be needed for sure. Dont forget a big piece of black electrical tape to go over the check engine light, unless you are planning to disable all that computer stuff....lol

Yeah the check engine light isnt a big deal i will most like remove the light bulb when i do custom gauges. I want to keep the computer becasue i can still install some sensor from a newer motor like water temp, volts, and oil pressure but i will still have pods with all my mechancial gauges also.

Thanks for your relpy

You can just wire in a toggle switch for the fuel pump, or wire it in series with your oil pressure sensor just like the old TBI trucks used to do.
