1998 GMC Sierra Cold Start Problems
I purchased my GMC Sierra back in June of 2014, so this is the first winter I've had the pickup. My problem is that I notice when the temperature dips below 40 degrees, it has trouble starting. Let's say it's above 25 or so, I can usually get the pickup started on the fifth try or so, but anything below, and I have to put the charger on the battery.
The battery is a new battery, so that is not the issue. I have also tested the alternator and that is working properly. I have replaced the ignition coil and that improved it a little but stilll did not correct the issue. I have also replaced the distributor cap and rotor.
Does anyone have any ideas on what else it may be? My only other thoughts are that there is corrosion somewhere which is restricting the extra voltage needed to start the pickup in the cold. Or maybe it's just not getting the required starter voltage? I also am curious about the fuel pump going bad...but would this cause starter problems? The only issues I have had with bad fuel pumps is the pickup not starting at all.
I know other owners of this type of pickup have had similar issues, but I have tried all of their solutions with no luck.

The engine is definitely cranking (maybe not fast enough though), and it doesn't want to fire up. It won't start though.
It gets to me though because it may eventually start just depending on the weather.
My dad thinks it could be a bad starter or just a bad fuel filter.
