Hey guys, havent been here for a while but i meed your help and opinions.

Im looking at buying a 1998 6.5 diesel, heres the specs

Fresh 6" rough country lift
35" tires (forgot the brand but they look expensive)
Truck has 400 000 kms on it, but the body and frame is in immaculate shape.
Transfer case seems to have a leak, getting the truck inspected tomorrow
Sway bars are loose, same with the passenger tie rod.

Truck is straight piped, burns no blue or white and like no black either. Starts fine, steering seems a little loose but nothing major.

Buddy is asking 5000 but i think i can get him down to 3000. Drives like a dream, a little rough but nothing too major. Its been a farm truck, no mud anywhere in the frame. Engine has no leaks and 4x4 works fine. Just want your guys opinion on it, and what i should pay if even bother with it. I sank my s10 so shes running rough and its time to upgrade. I can post pictures if needed.

I did a Kelly Blue Book check and it has a low of $4700 to a high of $5900 so dollar wise you are in good shape. From what you say it looks like a good deal. I've never owned a diesel so I can't help with the engine as to good bad or whatever. Good luck.

 

I ran another check with Kelly using a regular cab 2500 diesel and the value was $3500 on the low end and $4300 on the high end.
