Hey group,
I could really use some help. I have a 2" cowl hood on my 2005 Silverado. Can anyone direct me to or explain why I can not find a 4" cowl hood for this truck. Any help or comment would be greatly appreciated.

I found a steel cowl hood at the following website; StylinTrucks.com
It looks like 4 inches, but I'm not sure.

 

Hey Thanks, It is the exact hood I do have now. It does look taller though. I have been told that they can't make one any taller than 2" because of insurance reasons. I just have a hard time of believing that. Said it was because the insurance companies wouldn't cover me.

I can't believe it has to do with insurance ... I've seen plenty of taller hoods for other applications.

 

i can actually believe it, some insurance companies wont cover you if you have the windshield tinted to

 

soooo a huge blower that goes higher than the windshield is not acceptable by insurance? haha

 

LOL ummm... Yeah, they might frown on that, but would be nice to have or see...
