I own a 2006 Silverado 1500/ST
Under 24,000 miles (Less then a year old)

I have just replaced a Front Driver side wheel bearing that was completely shot (Fixed 01/20/07 Less then 24,000 miles) What would be the cause of this problem?

I'm a younger guy (24) not knowing all the much about trucks, and there problems that is why I am turning to others to help out.(Like you guys)

The dealer claims this happens... Wheel bearings go out and we just replace them. Something in the back of my mind didn't seem right the truck is new. The roughest the truck sees is going up and down a boat ramp. (I have a 89 Silverado to beat on) 4 wheel drive on/off at times, I live in Upper Michigan we get snow here and at times you need it. 4 wheel drive isn't used while the truck is moving even though they claim you can.

Anyways my concern now is that my Passenger side wheel area is making the same sounds as my Driver side was making. What would be the chances of the Driver and Passenger side, Hub/Bearings need to be replaced with less then 25,000 miles? I know you should get them inspected around 30,000 but not replaced?!?!?


Here is what the Dealer Notes are:
Bearing and Hub Assembly, Front Wheel Right Replace, Park 15863441
LF Hub Coming A Part, Replaced Hub, RD Test OK

I also assume they inspected the passenger side but not so sure about that now.

I feel like I am being kept in the dark with the dealership
Any Suggestions would be helpful....
