Default Bug Guard

So I am getting frustrated with the amount of bugs that I peel off of my truck and windshield from the amount of driving I do.

I'm afraid black might look weird on the front of my truck with everything else being chrome, but I'm also afraid that a chrome one might look really gaudy like a semi truck. Any suggestions? Any brands that look or work better than others?

I do plan to get a bull bar of some type at some point, but the bug guard is a bit more pressing at the moment.

My concern with bug guards is that they would cover the top chrome strip on the grille since its part of the hood. Clear might work I guess. Also, the one on my dad's old Silverado broke last year in the heavy snow while I was cleaning the hood because the snow packed in behind it.

I had bug guards on my old 89 and 96 trucks and I liked them, but I was always worried about them breaking in the winter. Surprisingly though, as rough as I was with them, neither of them broke. I'm considering adding one to me '04 truck.

I may have to bite the bullet too. The problem with the GMT900 trucks is the top of the chrome is integrated into the hood. So the bug guard covers it. The Chevy looks worse than the GMC.

Yeah that Chrome strip is what I noticed not too long ago. I can't put black plastic on my truck, I think it would completely ruin it.

I do think that the AVS Chrome may compliment it though, and will probably order one pretty soon.

Finally settled on the PUTCO Element chrome bug shield. It was a bit more money but got great reviews. My only complaint so far is that when you're going 25-30mph with the radio off, there is a slight whistling noise. It doesn't bother me too much though because I don't go that slow very often.

The best part? IT WORKS! Nothing will ever be perfect, but when I drive the ten hours from CHI to Northern Minnesota, I no longer have to stop three times just to wash my windsheild and headlights. I also think it looks pretty sharp
