Please Please, I own a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 and I bought it in 2010. This morning it displayed on its own "engine time 652 hours" and I obviously got worried. Is this something I should worry about? why did it do it? I have a little over 100,000 miles in it. Thanks in advance.

 

No it is NOT anything you need to be concerned with. Your DIC (Driver's Information Centre) will randomly give you information when your truck reaches different milestones or when you need to act on a issue.

You will know when your DIC starts a message with SERVICE ____
ie: SERVICE 4WD SYSTEM or SERVICE Tire Inflation Monitoring System
