Default front driveshaft vs. exhaust crossover

i've got a 98 silverado 4x4 with dual exhaust... last winter i put a 6" pro comp suspension lift on it and a 3" body lift... come to find out, i can't get my front driveshaft back in because of my exhaust crossover coming from the driver's side to the passenger side... the crossover is right in the way of the driveshaft... went to a local shop, and all they said was that i'll have to re-route my driver's side exhaust straight back, instead of crossing over... the truck has independent front suspension, so that driveshaft isnt going to bounce up or down with the suspension... can't i just cut a section of the existing pipe out, and loop a new pipe under the driveshaft instead of paying the $300 they want to do it? i was going to loop OVER the driveshaft, but the oxygen sensor is right before the bend in the pipe, so thats a no-go... anybody know if this would this cause any problems?

i'd try to loop it under, it doesnt seem like it could really do any damage
