Good Stereo/Cd replacement 2004 Silverado ext cab
Does anyone have a recommended Stereo replacement for a 2004 Silverado ? and where best to purchase from. Mine bit the dust, almost. The CD will no longer function and it would be nice to have some newer features anyway. I would rather not do any extensive dash mods. The problem I have is that some suppliers list only 1 din units when I search and others list only 2 din units. Has anyone put in an after market stereo that worked well?
In a way, I would like all the bells and whistles, (CD, digital input, navigation, bluetooth) but of course that raises the price and limits the availability. I am good at most mechanical and electrical things, but I really would prefer not to modify the dash by any cutting out but am dismayed at the differences in recommended units on the internet. Just looking mine looks like a 2 din to me.

I would suggest going to an automotive stereo supply shop and find out what your options are. (doesn't cost anything to shop).
Tell them what your budget is and what your looking for in a stereo
These guys will possibly help and advice you on the installation.
I've heard some horror stories of people doing installations on a late model truck like yours and it not work. To later find out what he thought was a wire showing 12vdc as a power supply turned out to be a 12vdc data for his DIC
