Default Grinding/Binding left side in 4wd

My 2004 2500 Crewcab has recently started grinding in 4wd-hi and acts like it is binding up on the drivers side. Really whines on deceleration. Any suggestions where to start?

Default RE: Grinding/Binding left side in 4wd

Check to see if your CV joint is bad on your axle shaft, or maybe your wheel bearing. Raise it up and turn your wheel all the way to one side, and spin the wheel by hand to see if you can hear the noise. CV joint usually will make a kind of popping or snapping noise. A bad wheel bearing will some times grind when turning. I have found when a right side wheel bearing is bad, it will grind when turning left, does yours grind turning right?
