Yes, I still have my Chevy stock wheels. My 2008 Silverado came with 265-65-18s. I needed the leveling kit to move up to 285s. 305-50-20s were an option, but the 20s were way too expensive for me at the time and believe it or not I'd gain width, but lose an inch or so in height with the 20s.

I have Motto MT700 18" Chrome wheels wrapped with LT 325/60R18 Nitto Terra Grapplers (33") on my '07 Silverado with a 6" lift and they still rub a little bit, only when making a sharp turn. I would have had to do some wheel well shaving to fit the 35s that I wanted.. My dad wasn't for shaving the wheel well... Hope this helps...

I kept on researching and i came across a thread on gmtrucks.com that has the same topic. The 305/55/20 will fit with a 2" leveling kit and the stock 20" rims. The rims cant be too wide otherwise it wont fit.The tires look really nice with that size. Thanks for the info and input guys. when i get everything together ill post some pics up to show you guys.

My stock tires are 275/70/17. I looked at the wheel and it has plenty of room. my local 4 wheel drive shop told me today that i can only fit 285/50/20. In that case it's not even worth going through all this trouble. There is a guy on chevytruckworld.com that is running 305/50/20 with a leveling kit. He said the 305/55/20will probably rub a lot. Another guy is running the 305/55/20 in a gm forum with a 2" lift kit. Now i ran into another problem. The rim that i likehas to be9" or less i found it with 8.5 but i dont know if itll fit because it has a+10 offset. I dont know if its abig difference over the factory and that in fact will make my tires rub. Any clues on this new topic?

In my opinion it's absolutely worth it if you want to go from a 17 inch rim to a 20 inch rim. As far as the offset goes, I'm not sure what the factory offset and backspacing are. The backspacing will have a greater effect on wether or not you will have rubbing. You don't want the tire to rub on the frame rail, as the frame rail is not movable. If you end up rubbing on the fender side, most of the time you can get away with only trimming the plastic shroud under the front bumper.

That said, if you do rub the frame rail you can use a spacer to move the wheel out, then you could trim the plastic shroud if you need to. Unless you find someone with the exact same setup you want to run you're pretty much going to have to dive in and see how deep the water is.

Will a set up like this work for me without problems? thanks in advancefor your help.
