i dont think you need to disconnect the ABS. Just get the speed sensors re-calibrated for the bigger tires

What size tires did you put on, and what brand? Bigger tires shouldn't trip the ABS. If your tires are different sizes that can wack out the system, if one tire is a little small for some reason. Or, the sensor could have gotten messed up somehow when the tires were changed.

This my help. Seen many.

Condition Some customers may comment on ABS activation at low speeds, usually below 8 km/h (5 mph).
Cause The cause of this condition may be an increased air gap between the wheel speed sensor and the hub reluctor ring due to rust and debris built up on the sensor mounting surface. Correction Clean wheel speed sensor mounting surfaces.

I would try cleaning the sensors. I have 285/75R16 on my truck with no problmes.

On a side note, the bigger tires made my speedo read dead on. Most speedo's read a little high from the factory. After I went with bigger tires my speedo matches my gps exactly.

If cleaning the ABS sensor doesn't help, then check the hubs. This same thing happened to me about 5 months ago. That would be my advice.

To disconnect the ABS, take the master fuse out of the under hood fuse box. Then take the dash light for the ABS out of the instroment cluster. That would completely get rid of your ABS.

Have fun with your truck without the ABS. I know I did!

Recall is 1999-2002. Service bulletin is for 1999-2006. So I guess thy only covered the 99-02 under the recall only
