Default I can't find the TPS on my 2004 4.8

Hi,

I'm trying to replace the tps on my silverado. 2004 4.8 V8. The first picture is the part that I got in the mail. The second picture is where the manual says it is supposed to be. The third picture is the only thing I can see as being a sensor.

Thanks for any help.

Chad

It is internal to the throttle body. Built in. You have one for a 2002 or older, non fly by wire tps sensor.

Ah, I see. So if I wanted to replace it, would this be the part I need?

The reason I was going to swap out the tps is to see if it would fix a slight hard shift I have from first to second gear. I read that a faulty tps might give this symptom. It only happens from first to second, and it only happens if I'm barely on the throttle, like driving through a parking lot. When I'm driving down the road at mid throttle, there's no problem at all. Any experience with replacing the throttle body? I noticed you were in NH, I just moved here from California. Live free or die!

Thanks,
Chad

It is the part that has the tps. As far as fixing the problem I dont know. Might be a trans issue?

yeah, that's what I've wondered since I got the truck. It's barely noticeable, but it's one of those things that once you do notice it, you can't unnotice it. I just read about the tps causing that problem sometimes, so I thought $30 was worth a shot.

I hear you on the $30 dart. A new throttle body $200-$300 expensive guess. LOL
