knock sensor replacement

Default knock sensor replacement

well, my knock sensors decided they weren't fond of water and gunk, so whenever i get a chance this week im going to (try to) replace them myself, since the parts are 110 including a new manifold gasket.

has anyone done this before, or know anything in particular to watch out for?

you'll needa disconnect tool for the fuel lines.....you should be ab;e to get 1 at a parts store

it can't be much...under 10 bucks for sure...it looks kinda like a pair of scissors (kids' scissors)...KD makes em I know

ok so after a nice 8 hours of working, i got them replaced. now my truck idles like its got a cam though... once its in gear and accelerating it runs great, but it idles really rough... any ideas?

everything plugged in?..the MAP sensor up on top and in the rear?...can you hear any type of vacuum leak?

didja find a tool cheap?

yeah i got a cheapo plastic one for like five bucks... everything's plugged up, but i dont know what a vacuum leak sounds like...

damn... yeah it's hissing... how do i find where it is? will it be obvious?
