noise coming from rear end, please help!

RE: noise coming from rear end, please help!
I pulled the driveshaft off today and both the u-joints are pretty bad. All the bearings are broken in half. I went and got new u-joints earlier and tomorrow I am taking the driveshaft to a shop and getting the old ones pressed off and the new ones pressed on. I will put it all back together when I get back and see if that helps anything. If it doesn't make any noises I will just call it quits and drive it till it all explodes.

RE: noise coming from rear end, please help!
There wasn't anybody local open on Saturday so I had to wait until today. I took the driveshaft over to a driveshaft specialist and he put in some u-joints ($50 for everything, now I can send back to rockauto that bearing and seal kit and get my $97 back) he had ($40) because the ones my dad went and got from O'Reilley's were the wrong ones. Anyway, went back home, put the driveshaft in, and I haven't had any problems with it at all. The noises (squeaking, popping, and clunking) are all gone. With the stiffer new u-joints, the pinion doesn't have a whole lot of play in it and my differential hasn't exploded, so I would call it good for now. I know it's not 100% fixed but it will last for a while until I can save up the money to have somebody redo the rearend professionally. I appreciate all the responses and if somebody else is having these problems with their rearend hopefully it will help out.
