I've decided to install the above mentioned double din unit in my 08 sierra. I'm wondering if anyone has any tips to make this install look as clean as possible. I'm very capable to install it myself, but I want it to look like it was stock. Thanks.

 

i havn't installed a doub-din before neither have i messed with the new body style gm interiors. but i have PLENTY of experience w/car audio.....

try contacting a local stereo shop and see if there is a doub-din dash mounting kit for your truck and if there is, there should be step-by-step instr. telling you how to install it and make it look Pertty.

 

Dont do it! I have an 07 and I am totally selling my DVD player and keeping the factory head unit. I will add amp and speakers and a JL Audio cleansweep so I can add subs and all. I may add DVD player under the seat or in the back. I put one in my 05 and even with a good dash kit and lots of work it still looked like crap. I am not convinced that there is a an good dash kit out for the new body style. Let me know how it works out I still totally want to put mine in but I dont want to kill the look of it. Look into the cleansweep it allows you to hook up amps to your factory head unit without sacrificing the clarity and the factory look. Off course no DVD though.
