Replacing the rear brakes
Hey
I am trying to find any kind of resource on how to replace the entire rear brake system (rotors, calipers, pads and shoes). Does anyone know how to do this or know where i can get this info?
Thanks

RE: Replacing the rear brakes
I have worked on mine that range from the 89 to 98 GM trucks. The calipers have two bolts that hold them on. They are allen wrench style bolts, not sure what size. You disconnect the brake line with a 7/16 wrench. Rotors come right off once the caliper is taken out of it's bracket. Pads are removed fairly easily. To replace thepads you will have to compress the piston in the caliper with a c-clamp so you will be able to slide the caliper back on with the new (thicker) pads installed. Re-install in reverse of what you did to remove the parts. Not really that difficult. Hope this helps.
