Sierra stuck in Park.. fixed see thread
97 Sierra

My truck gets stuck in Park
The first time it happened it allowed me to
get out of park after about ten minutes
The next time I found that if I remove the
relay switch, under the hood and put it back in
it comes out of park.
I switched the relay with the AC relay (same part#) and had the same result.
If I let it sit for a few mins. it resets it self
I also tried turning off remove key, restart with foot on brake pedal, park brake on, on level ground.
Any ideas?

You were correct on the fix
I had done a search on the topic and didn't find anything
After I posted the question I did a
check related posts and found onealong with some guy having wiper problems he also had the park problem and you told him to unplug the selenoid.
So I found the selenoid and was finding it difficult to unplug the wire without breaking something.. so I took off the lower trim panel and disconnected the actual rod that connects to
the selenoid.
It comes out of park now with or without your foot on the brake... which is ok with me ...most of my driving life has been without those kind of features anyway.
It was an easy fix. I'm not going to replace the selenoid.
