Default Spit and Sputter. Service light.

Hey there! Just joined the forum, always good to have somewhere to turn to for opinions. Anyhow, have a 98 sierra Z71 with a 305. Truck has some problems Im tryin to get to the bottom of but this one just came up and is affecting the truck quite a bit. Had the codes pulled and its throwin P0131 twice. Say Im cruisin along and hit the gas to shift down a gear the rpms will drop and shell spit and sputter. This will even accur in neutral. Wont go past round 2500/3000 rpms in neutral. It will eventually get so bad that its nearly impossible to leave a red light until you re fire the truck. Dosnt act up as bad in cold tempatures. Just replaced the fuel filter yesterday in hopes of a solution. Any thoughts?

I viewed and understand that. But from the research ive done from the links on that page people that changed the o2 sensor still had the problem.

From what i understand there is multiple things that could throw that o2 sensor off to make it throw a code? So im just searching for different possibilities if any.

Yeah sometimes the codes are a little vague as to what the issue is. Have you had your converter checked? Any muffler shop should check it for free. I would start there and then if it isn't that get the multimeter out and start checking sensors one by one.

Yes the catalytic converter. Make sure it isn't clogged.
