spindle/steering knuckle question
first of im new here to the forum. nice site to all who set it up. ok so here is the question. i own a 1994 chevy centurion. (silverado conversion truck). the problem i am having is it is chewing up front wheel bearings every 6 months. yes i use torque specs, bearing packer, and new seals. im thinking the spindles my be bad due to some slight discoloration on them. they look like they have overheated in the past. i am the 3rd owner of the truck and the second owner does not know of any front end problems. i got a set of spindles of a buddy who lowered his truck his truck was same as mine, motor, bed, extended cab, and year. but the spindles are 1/2 shorter than mine. you cant tread the nut on any help would be good. thanks

if your spindles are discolored as in blue or black or burnt looking color
then yes there bad also do you use new bearings everytime or the same old ones
if you use the old ones they may be warped or eggshaped or just worn out nad bad
that will cause you to keep replaceing the parts you are

no i have used new bearings and races every time. and they are blued but not to bad just a slight tint. i work with metal alot and i knew they have overheated at one time. but back to my buddies spindles. why would the be different. they brake roter is not as thick as mine either. can anyone shed some light on that for me. could it be a hd package that southern comfort conversion put on the truck. or could it be something else.
