Why does my 05 silverado LS take universal joints that are for the SS model? I checked with three different parts stores and the ones in the book for the LS were too small so I brought in the old ones and they matched up with the SS. Anybody know why this is??

 

What are the specs on your truck? 2wd/4wd? Maybe the truck was ordered with a different gear ratio typically reserved for the SS? If you have the window sticker, that would be very helpful.

Maybe someone else will have some input?

 

Hi yes I do have the window sticker it is an 05 silverado LS 1500 4wd ext cab
Rear axl ratio is 3.42

Has light duty power package
vortec5.3L 310hp alum block v8
locking differential-rear axle
Hd trailering equipment
