Default Wipers will not turn off!

When i turn the key on my wipers go in the low setting even if the switch is off... put in on inter.. still low speed but if i put them on high they go to the high speed...

I tried pulling the connector at the wiper motor and cleaned it really good with electrical cleaner but, still no go.... and other thoughts?

Before you do that... Does the windshield washer work when you press up on it to engage it? If it is a multifunction switch going bad there is normally some more tale tale signs; like what I mentioned, but I do suspect the multifunction switch.

Before you replace the column switch, go to where the wiper motor is plugged in (I think you only cleaned the contact for the power plug) There will be 3 torx screws you will need to remove. Take the cover off and examine the circuit board in there. 9 times out of ten it is that board gone bad. They are notorious for that. Sometimes you can clean them, but most of the time they need to be replaced. Clean it real good and put it back together. Then see if they either work properly or work diferently than before. If it changes the way they work (even if it isn't correctly) change that board. The good news is if it is that they are now available through the "HELP" section at your local auto parts store. Good Luck!

This is usually the "pulse module" at the wiper motor itself. If you have the early style motor, you cant replace the pulse module without first getting a new motor. Went through this on my 88 GMC C3500.
