Default 1980 K20 Scottsdale (trying to find)

Well I'm new to this forum and want to say Hi! I had a 80 Scottsdale, Bought new off the lot in 80. 3/4 ton 4x4 350 4 gear. It was awesome! I soon started to customize it and soon was a lifted show truck, I loved that thing but along came kids and braces and tough times and I had to sell it in the mid 90's. Man it was like selling one of my kids! Anyway I'm on a search with the DMV here in Wisconsin and hopefully I'll find out what happened to it or where its at and try to buy it back. Rumor had it after I sold it the kid wrecked it but no way to find out because I lost all info and name of who I sold it too but have the VIN number. Has anyone ever been able to find their truck on a nationwide search for pre 81 VIN's and what/who did you use? I think with a fee and the use of maybe state police using NCIC I'll bet they could.
If anyone from the Spring Green area Wisconsin seen or did see a lifted 80 contact me, It was bright red with Aluminum slot mags with 35" ground hawg tires, White roof, Chrome roll bar.

I'm not sure about Wisconsin but in Ontario When buying a used vehicle, the buyer has to pay for a MTO (Ministry of Transportation) Vehicle History search $20
This doesn't give addresses but it gives the names of people or companies that has owned the vehicle back to when it was new.

Your DMV should be able to help you with out violating any privacy acts, at least say if it is still licensed in WI or what county it resided in

Do you have pictures of your truck?
KEEP US POSTED ON YOUR SEARCH

Well I found it, Not good news, The guy who had it told me it was wrecked/totaled out 15 years ago, Lady blew through an intersection and broadsided him, literally tore both axles off and rolled it. Insurance totaled it out. He was sick about it as I was hearing it.
Thanks for the info and these forums are great.
