Whining Noise

Whining Noise
I've been putting up with an annoying whining noise that I thought was the power steering pump in my 07.5 Silerado 2500HD Duramax LMM
I tolerated it until I could save enough cash to replace it.
Turns out the whining noise isn't apparent at idle, either when I swing the steering wheel from left to right. Only during higher RPMs.
200,000 KM 124,300 ml is this common to see a turbo go bad? or even a cooling fan clutch?

That shouldn't be common at all. I know the 07 is a redesign for ultra low sulfur, but I haven't heard anything bad about a duramax... ever.
The steering on the other hand is pretty prone to go out every 100,000 miles. On our 06 we replaced a pump, pitman arm, and all four ball joints at 100k and they said we'd have to do it again at 200k.
Hope this is a little helpful??

Thanks Kevin
Yeah this helps... A while back I topped up my Power steering fluid.
But I may have been too late.
This is the bad thing about GM vehicles is that their power steering pumps are unforgiving.
Ford pumps can run low, get noisy and if you top them up they go quiet again.
