Default advise on 99 f150 with 240k miles

Hello Ford fans. Im looking for some feedback or advise on a 99 Ford F150 with 240k miles. The high mileage really concerns me but everything else visible on te truck is in absolute excellent condition. Body, paint, interior, wheels etc.

The truck can be had for under 3k and the owner says it has had regular maintenance and upkeep. Its a looker, but, with that many miles I know other parts around the motor can be at the end of their lifespan.

I think 240k would be very high for any make of truck, but what do you Ford owners say? Ive never had a Ford and just looking for some feedback.

All the other trucks in the 3k range in my area look like crap. At least this one looks cherry so im hoping the owner was as religious with maintenance as he was in keeping it looking great.

Thanks in advance for your advise.

If you're confident that it's been taken care of, and it looks like it has, I wouldn't be worried.

How does it drive? Has he replaced steering and suspension components? This is what I would be worried about:

-Ball joints
-U-Joints
-Steering pitman arm

Honestly, on a truck like that, being 2wd, there really isn't much to them, and they're quite easy to work on. Has it been in Florida all of it's life?

What size engine? 2Wheel or 4Wheel drive? 240K is pretty impressive and I suspect that if that is the original engine, they previous owners took very good car of it. At below $3k, I don' think you have much to lose. For insurance, take it to your local mechanic and have a pre-purchase inspection done to lessen the risk of immediate needs. PPI shouldn't be more than $200.
