Extra Parts Found in Trans Pan ??? Please Help .. Urgent
Greetings ...
I was changing the trans oil on a friends 2001 F150 2x4 with a 4R70W transmission today and when I dropped the trans pan I found a piece laying in the pan ... Yellow plastic with an o ring on it .... Can't figure out where this thing came from. I've looked at all possibilities ... except for the right on obviously .... Any assistance would be greatly appreciated ... I've attached a picture of the piece that I found.

That is the factory installed dust plug. It will be in the pan if this is the first time that if has been changed. It is normal you are supposed to discard it when you do your first filter change.

Thanks so much for the response .... shortly after my post, a friend who is a Ford tech called me back and had told me the foolish truth .... I feel like a dum *** .... But now I have another question on the same truck ...
I will post a new thread so as not to draw this one out in another direction ...
