2005 6.0 F-350 sputters while cranking but won't start **AGAIN!!**
I recently had this truck in the shop and they replaced the secondary coupler and the FICM. I had a problem with the vehicle cranking but not starting right after I purchased it (65,000 miles). $3,000.00 worth of work later and only 6,000 miles more I now have a similar problem happening. When I crank the truck over it will sputter like it is trying to start but will not catch. I have noticed recently while driving the truck that the turbo will drop off when pulling a load or getting on it. When the turbo drops I get a wrench symbol on the dash and after shutting down and restarting the vehicle the turbo returned. I am not sure if this has anything to do with why it is not starting now but thought it worth mentioning. Going to pick up a code reader from a friend tomorrow morning and see if I can get a code.
-- Any recommendations for what the look for as the problem?
-- Any recommendations for what repair books to get that have the most detailed information for working on this model of truck?
-- Having taken it into Bickford Ford in Snohomish County WA to have the repairs done before, are there any recommendations for a good diesel mechanic if I need to take it in again?
My beautiful 2005 Ford F-350 Superduty Crew Cab dream truck that I finally bought for myself this year has become a lawn orniment... I would be grateful for any help you folks can provide.
Thank you Trying not to be too --->>> about it.
