he guys, new at this site and also w/ a 2008 f-350 6.4 diesal. never had a diesal before, so need advise. 1st anything i need to know about that truck/motor. also need info on chips/programers to get more power out of it. any advise will be very helpfull.

 

I don't know too much about these motors, but I know that the 6.0 liter diesel that came immediately prior to the 6.4 was an absolutely horrendous engine for both reliability and fuel economy. The 6.4 and 6.0 were both developed outside of Ford by Navistar. The 7.3 Powerstroke that came before the 6 and 6.4 were as well as the 6.7 that replaced the 6.4 in 2011 are both Ford developed engines and have a good reputation.

I'm sorry to say that although I haven't heard anything on the 6.4, I'm skeptical of it simply because it is developed by the same people that did the 6.0, and it only had a run-time of 2 years (?) before it was replaced again.
