Default Gasoline in Diesel---oops!

Hello all, this past weekend i put a full tank of gas into a 2007 ford 250 diesel truck... While the needle for "low fuel" was not turned on the fuel was pretty low.... i happen to drive 3 or so miles before i realized that the truck was running funny...a bit shakey not ridiculous...but pretty obvious and i was wondering why? Then i realized that i had accidentally put gas into the tank! I then pulled over to the nearest gas station and had it towed the next day.

While the truck did not stall out or the engine stopped there was also no signs of smoke or even smell. I assume the diesel in the truck diluted the gas a bit but i was wondering how much damage could of possibly done to the engine? Right now it's at the shop but i was just trying to get a guess at the worst it could of happen, don't want them to make it sound worse than it is. Although I'm sure it's still no laughing matter.

Would any of you fellow forum goers happen to know the ins and outs of the diesel and or perhaps share some horror stories?
