Do "Best In Class" Titles Matter To You?
As you've probably noticed, Ford and Ram are at each other's throats over "best in class" titles in towing.
What I want to know is: Do You Care?
Ram advertises "Best In Class" towing with Class III trucks because they've got a single-cab dually that can pull 30,000 pounds. Ford has beefed up their F-350 to make an F-450 pickup which can tow 31,200. They say it's Best In Class, but it's over the Class III limit of 14,000 pounds GVWR.
Do "best in class" titles sway you at all when you're looking to buy a new truck? How, or why not?

...means nothing to me unless the test is run by an independent 3rd party. I've heard ford skews their towing numbers by running the test on partially stripped down models. Chevy followed suit when they learned ford was doing this.
Honda lost a class action law suit for misrepresenting there fuel economy ratings for one model.
I want the truck that doesn't break down. Who cares if it tows less or uses 5% more fuel.
