Hello there I've got ( I think ) a 1980 Yota Truck, and it's got a 22r in it. Bought it non runnig, had an engine fire, I rewired everything in it, check it out I replaced the 20r w/ the 22r and that motor has 250k on it and purrs like a kitten, BUT however it's got a lifter tap. I'm sure that it's the exhaust on cyl #2. I've adjusted everything to .008 for the intake and .012 for the exhaust, that made it worst, so I adj. down to .006, and .10 not as bad now, but still sounds funny. The motor sat for 5 yrs b4 I got it running, and I ran it around for like 20 miles with an open headder and old oil. Got the exhaust on and changed the oil, thats when the lifter went NUTS. The question that I have is... what am I going to do about the noisy cyl.? I'm open to anything. Oh yeah I've got 10- 30 Hi.Mi Valvoline and Lucas iol treatment in it, AFTER it started to make noise. WHAT am I to do?
