Hey guys, new to the site, my truck died yesterday on me. i was driving along, when the rpm's started going down on my truck. I would lose power for a couple of seconds, then it would accelerate again. so i pulled into the gas station and popped the hood. my k&N (fpik) filter had come of. the tie snapped i think. so i put it back on and drove home. the problem didn't go away. when i got home, i turned the truck off, then tried to turn it back on again, and no go. my question is, would bad sensors stop the truck from getting fuel? i checked the shrader valve, pushed it in, and only a drop of gas dripped out. I don't know if i should replace the gas pump and filter, or if bad sensors will keep me getting good gas pressure to start the engine

Try replacing the fuel filter. Cheap and easy to do. If that doesn't fix it, and there is no pressure from the valve, it might be the pump. You could also have a bad pressure regulator if equipped. Good luck.
