Is it worth paying the extra money upfront to buy the powerstroke or would i be better off just getting the v-10. I will occasionally be pulling a 10,000 trailer, i drive about 15k a year and do either of these engines have reoccuring problems like the 6.0l powerstroke has been known to have. Thanks for the help and your input.     James

Definately go for the 7.3. The V-10 is a head gasket-blowin', gas chuggin P.O.S.

Go with the 7.3!! It depends on how you do most of your driving. I've always had gassers but I luv my 7.3.  However if you're only doing short hops around town a gsser may be what you want.I didn't think I'd use mine for anything except towing my 20ft beavertail but I haven't even started my other vehicles since I bought it. If you do get the 7.3 try to get the intercooled 1 97 and up.

I've owned a 2003 F-250 with V10 and I must say it had plenty of power and always was a key turner. I was also in the market to buy a diesel and after allot of research, I just bought a new 2007 Silverado 2500HD with the 6.6 liter Duramax and Allison 6 speed tranny. The power is more than I could have expected. With 365HP and 660Tq, This beast will come unglued. Get an oil burner. I looked hard at the big three and none of them could stack up to the Duramax. I hope this helps your decision.
