I just bought a 2004 dodge ram 1500 quad cab 4.7liter V8. I was going to get a gmc but i change my mind. how do i go about changeing my name on here. Also I keep hearing this whistleing sound coming from the engine anyone have any idea what it could be. Another thing what are some cheap upgrades to provide more power to it.

As far as upgrades go, all the basics apply to all vehicles. Better flowing exhaust, a good cold air intake, and a programmer or custom ECU tune. A custom tune is gonna get you more power than a programmer but some people just have their preferences. Don't know how a throttle body spacer would affect a 4.7liter, but it makes my 4.8liter Sierra run a lot better. And they're cheap too! Don't know about the whisteling, and as far as the name change bit, you should be able to go into your profile settings and change your user name and password to whatever else you want. You can select My Profile at the top of the screen among the other tiny links.

i am sure you figured it out by now but the whistling is prob due to a cold air intake and the silencer ring has been taken out of the turbo

Tons of upgrades can be done: A good set of exhaust system, mufflers, cold air intake and other auto body parts, lights etc. It would really depend on the budget you have for the said upgrades. as for the whistle sound - your manifold it might be cracked or something.. Good luck and keep us posted

Kinda late reply here. But just want to add this. You say you want some mods for your truck and the cold air intake bit was suggested. Well, that may increase your truck's performance. remember though that if you have a cold air intake, you have to be extra careful when driving in wet conditions as you surely don't want water to enter your truck's engine. Auto body parts would be good too if you want it to look better on the outside.
