hello all. my name is Zepp, I'm very new to this forum, infact I just finished registering 5 minutes ago. heres the scoop: I have a little sports car and I'm a mechanic. I need something to haul my tools around in and also something that can tow cars as I need to do sometimes. my family doesn't have a good work truck and we need something big that we can all fit in. I realize I haven't put to many options down, but I really want a reaction to the different diesel truck engines and what are some pros and cons. the powerstroke is a good truck, has many options and is "built to last", by that I mean the engines can hold their own. Dodge has great quality truck and the engine I don't know much about. I know the difference is V8 vs L6 but both can pack a punch as far as I've read. I need to make a decision soon because I've got my eye on 2 very great trucks but its one or the other, not both. so lemme know what you think, I've never owned a truck, but I worked valet parking cars for a long time and have driven just about every truck on the market.
it boils down to which engine can haul the most but be comfortable at the same time, and which one can hold 5 passengers comfortably. so yeah, vote away, lemme know what you think, I'll check back in a couple of days.

I'd go with the Duramax. I tested all three and found out that not only is the Duramax for 2006 make more stock horsepower/torque(360/650) but it's A LOT quieter than either of the other two.The Powerstroke was so loud I could,nt believe they'd use it . In fact I think Ford is dropping it at the end of the year.
