I have an '05 Sierra with a 5.3 L engine. I am currently getting about 13 mpg but I am sure I can get better. Is there a better way that I can increase my mpg.

OK, so I've been busy for the past week, but I'm working on getting the answers to all your questions.  3 down, 3 to go.  Hopefully I will get a chance to post them by the end of the day.
Sorry about the wait, but not too sorry, because busy is good!

OK, sorry again about the delay.  Here are the answers I've gotten so far:
1.  1987 GMC HIGH SIERRA - You're going to have to go look at your local aftermarket part dealer.  We have a great franchise in Michigan called AutoMasters, but I don't know whether it is outside Michigan or not.  Good luck, and let's try not to type in all caps next time, my ears are still ringing.
2.  Nerf Bars - Probably the issue is that the bolts are not tight enough.  Either that or the metal bracket is touching the frame, in which case you'll have to take them off and re-do the process.
3.  Lift Kit - Putting a lift kit on your 07 Sierra Crew can both cause a rougher ride and damage the suspension, so consider yourself warned.  Additionally, messing around with the parts and/or drivetrain can have a negative effect on your warranty.  I know those aren't the answers you wanted, but once again, consider yourself warned.
4.  Speedo Cluster - In my experience GM is a merciless bunch of bastards (pardon my French) when it comes to that type of thing, so I would guess that, considering the mileage, you're probably SOL.  That being said, it is definitely worth a shot.  Call GMC Assistance @ 800.462.8782
5.  Gas Mileage - To get better gas mileage, be sure to replace the air-filter and fuel-filter regularly.  Also, consider driving like a normal person (jk).

OK so now that I'm caught up, feel free to ask away!  Thanks to all that posted questions, even though I feel like all I gave you was bad news.

Do you know how to change the antenna in an 04 Sierra 1500? Can't figure out where it comes in through the firewall and how to get to it. Pictures would be great...LOL.

Ryan . . . When I order a WT1SA or SLE1 in a 3500HD can I delete OnStar and satellite radio? And rear defroster and power windows in the SLE1?

Does the Work Truck come with the blacked-out front end (no chrome trim) and black front bumper?

Jim

I recently purchased a 2002 GMC Sierra SLT with a 5.3 V8 engine. I was told by a friend that this engine may have an option that that would allow it to shut down to 4 cylinders while at cruising speeds on the highway. Is this true? Can this be achieved with computer chip change?

I have the new body style ext. cab.  Want to know if you know the size of the speakers.  Starting with the tweeter to the front door panels, and the back door panels.  I think they are 6.5" but than again they can be the the 5.25".  Any info would help.

Just bought a 06 GMC Sierra 4 wheel drive.  On the way home I noticed that above 65 mph to about 80 mph (AZ interstate speed is 75 mph) to front end hums cyclicly (a rotational sound like a slight vibration).  It doesn't do this below 65.  However at the speeds I mentioned it is annoying.  This truck only has 15k on it and is in excellent shape.  Any ideas?

I just bought a 1989 Sierra with V8.  Love the style.  Concerned that it has a coolant issue.  No visible external leaks.  No foam in the oil.  Possible head gasket leak?  Will be performing a combustion test (bubble tester) this weekend.  If it is head gasket how does one determine which side?  Any comments on the headgasket sealer products at AutoZone?  are they effective?

Please ask your service mgr. steps to take to remedy service 4WD message, and truck swapping into 4Lo on its own. Many post around web suggest different things, most posts
refer to switch panel in dash, some say connections and vaccum hoses etc. My dealer said it
was they encoder motor and something else, around 900 bucks.
