my odometer isnt working! everything else works great. the idiot that owned it before me said he replaced the dash and he had the tranny rebuilt at the same time, and when he put everything back together it wouldnt work. he tried the old dash again and no luck. i have no clue what to check.

If its a fullsize silverado I think I can help you out because I had that happen and if its what I am thinking its not a hard fix.

I had a 96 Silverado with a 4L60E. If I remember right you have the 700R in yours. If yours is fuel injection check what I listed below. I had the truck lor awhile and the trans needed a rebuilt and the guy who did the rebuild broke the part of the wiring harness that feeds the speedo . I would check this and if its not the case then check to see if the guy that did the rebuild put the speedo gear back in. I hope this helps. Zach
