Hello, I bought a 350 engine for my 89 Sierra. The engine that I got is carb'd and we are swapping it over to TBI. Basically the problem we are having is that this engine didn't come with a starter. I was going to use my old starter off of the 305 however it won't mesh up to the ring gear. The ring gear on the 305 is 11" where the one on the 350 is 14" (168 teeth). I went to our local parts shop to get a starter and the one they gave me won't mesh either. We were going to use the 305 ring and starter however it won't bolt to the 350 block. I asked dude where he got the engine from and he said a 1985 Camaro however in 85 the camaro's never came stock with a 350. Looking for some ideas as to what I can do here. Any advice would be greatly apreciated.

yea try a starter from an 85 p/u i was able to reuse my flywheel from my 305 to 350 swap so id say you probably did get an older model 350 in which case youll need an older starter.
