I know this question has probably been asked before, but is there a decent programmer or tune for a 2006 Duramax? I am mainly looking at possibly getting a 1-2mpg difference as the power is already substantial and torque phenomenal. I have had a few people recommend this type of upgrade to my truck and am just investigating further. The 5yr 100,000 mile powertrain warranty is still in effect so i would like to get something that has the ablity to be turned back to stock. Budget is <$300 but if there is one out there for more that will gain significantly better fuel economy it might be worth the investment.

The 65 RWHP sounds about perfect for us but what kind of fuel economy gain can I expect out of an easy accelerating driver and easy around town driving? I want something that will pay for itself over time

Will one of these help with pulling fuel economy? As it is stock we get 13mpg pulling a horse trailer and it would be VERY nice if that improved.....I did the math and if we gained 4mpg(prolly out of line) it would take 5 months to pay for as driven right now.

Anybody else have input???

I dont konw of but 2 guy that come here with a Duramax. You might get more reply''s on GM Full Size.
