Truck Forums - Catalytic converter problem

My catalytic converter is going bad, I can hear them rattling and I can’t afford a new catalytic converter Y pipe system right now, (cost 455.63) so I was wondering if I cut them out before they plug the exhaust and put exhaust pipe in the place of them what I would have to do to fool the ECU for the O2 sensors on the rear side of the cats, because I don’t want the service light to come on. I have heard about O2 sensor spacers but I’m not sure where to get them and if they even work. Any information would be great.
