Tire Wear

I have a 05 Duramax that eats rear tires like candy. I don't have any clues as to why. Anyone else experiencing the same issue? Any possible ideas as to why this may be happening?

does the truck track straight? (i.e. do the rear tires follow directly behind the front? and do you haul heavy loads? and do you have a heavy foot? did to hit anything with the rear axle, doing doughnuts, brodies...... and hit a curb or ditch, anything like that. and you should park the truck on a level surface, crawl underneath and mark one point on each side of the truck on the front in the same place, on the lower control arms is probably best, and do the same on the rear axle. have a friend help you measure from the front to the rear both diagonally, and straight back, the diagonals should be the same, and the two straight measurements should be the same, if not something is out of alignment. also, is it rear wheel steering?
