2015 Canyon/Colorado Towing Specs

Seriously considering a purchase of this model by summer of next year and have a few questions. Hoping a few members here are better informed than I am.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I know they predict the V6 to have a towing capacity of 7000 lbs.

I'm more likely to purchase the 4 cyl. - any word on that model's towing numbers?

Also - are the rumors of a 4 cyl turbo-diesel option true? Would that model have slightly better towing than the gas 4 cyl since it would have a bit more torque?

(I'd be towing a 3500 lb camper or a 3000 lb fishing boat)

It is difficult to find detailed info on the new 2015 Colorado and Canyon
The engine isn't going to dictate the towing capacity of the truck. It is going to be the chassis and suspension.
It does tell us the 3.7L gas and the 2.8L Duramax diesel offers a tow mode on the 6 spd transmission

Thanks for the responses - the review was very informative.

It seems the truck will have no issues carrying out the towing duties I'd require. Hope to test drive one in the Spring of next year!

Just me, but if I was towing 3500 pounds, it would be with at least a full sized 1500.....
