Colorado Clutch
Hey -- The clutch on my 2006 Colorado 2WD 5-speed 5-cylinder seems to have an awfully short throw. I mean, it moves bare inches (three, four at the absolute most), not the six or eight inches the S-10 clutch moved. It also requires very little pressure (practically just the weight of my foot) to disengage. I didn't have to stomp my old S-10, but I had to put SOME pressure on the clutch. Is this the way it should be for the Colorado? It feels dead. I had a BMW with a clutch like that; I had the clutch bled and regained normal clutch travel. The dealer says it's a brand-new truck and everything is within specifications. They have no other manual-transmission Colorados that I can compare against mine.
Another thing, am I the only person in the world who buys manual-transmission trucks anymore? Thanks, DD |
RE: Colorado Clutch
I just bought a 06 z71 5 speed manual so nope your not alone. My clutch has about 6-8 inches of travel and you can feel every inch of it.

RE: Colorado Clutch
Paklasity -- Thanks, sorry it has taken so long to respond. I finally got the dealer to check the !@#$% clutch and it was off. They fixed it. Thanks for the confirmation. That's the only problem I've had with the truck.
