gas problems

have a '93 S10 4.3L. tbi. every so often it has not started. let it set awhile and it will start! when it happens there is No gas in the tbi's, so far, I've changed filter, no help. got a fuel pressure gauge set but I can't find where to hook it up, book says on left fender wall! not there!! anyone have any ideas or suggestions? in case you can't tell, this is my first time on a chatboard , so if I make mistakes please give some guidance,I'll appreciate it thanks,

there is no port to check pressure on those tbi's...there is a tool you can buy...it goes where the fuel filter is,then you screw onto that.
do you hear the pump run for 2 seconds when the key is turned on?

Argon, Thanks for reply, yes, when truck starts the pump runs. but it takes my wife to listen when I turn on key, when it doesn't start ,I can't hear because of dash alarm, don't really want to discon. it , because I sometimes forget to turn off headlights with PA., new wipers on / headlights on law
