Help! Fuel Gauge still showing empty...

hi.. new to site. have an 02 silverado 1500.. fuel gauge was intermittently reading empty w/ low fuel message for a week or so- it has a 1/2 tank.... it has now a new fuel pump/sender unit, pressure sensor, connectors, etc. pump works good.. wires on connector #A (org/blk stripe signal) B (gray pump +12) C (purple +5) D (black grd.).. I'm getting +12V on pump, +5V on the purple wire, good ground... crazy- the fuel gauge is reading empty all the time... so to troubleshoot further i disconnected the 4 wire connector from sending unit which should drive the gauge to the full position but no go.. still empty. thinking it might be the gauge itself in cluster? also,. I checked continuity per fuel level PPL wire and fuel level sensor grd reference ORN/BLK wire and both check out going back to ECU… good continuity on both .. any suggestions?.. help.. help.. new fuel pump/sender, +12 to pump work great, +5 to sender from PCM to sender, good ground to sending unit and continuity good on both sending unit wires to and from PCM… what else can it be if not the gauge.. except the PCM itself. BTW: it does have the plastic fuel tank but ground is on the sender.
