Default Radio security code

I'm new here and have a couple questions.

The alternator was replaced in my nephew's 2000 Sonoma and now the radio is locked out.
Is there a way to re-enable it without having to take it to the dealer?

Also, the vehicle alarm goes off all by itself, for no reason. Is there a way to disable it?

Many thanks,

Mike

Default RE: Radio security code

Easiest way to reset the radio is to take it to an Auto-Zone, they have scanners to erase codes. The alarm would be a sensitivity setting issue and varies from one alarm to another.
