trans fluid overflow

I have a 95 s-10 blazer that has a trans fluid overflow tube.yesterday I was driving and saw smoke under the hood and smelled trans fluid.when I looked under the hood the trans fluid tube was the source.the level is normal but it smokes a little does anyone have any ideas?

Saw thisonce and found that the tranny was running warm. The fluid was foamy and it was doing the same as yours. Changed tranny fluid and filter and it seemed to fix the problem. Sister in-law drives the truck now and its just fine still after 25,000 miles or so.

the fluid was kinda foamy.we got the tranny rebuilt about 1-1/2 years ago.should the fluid need changing already?is there a way to tell that the tranny is running warm?

if its been that long then id say its due for a fluid change, any idea on an approximate amount of miles driven since?
