Default @#$%#@! heater hose hookup to intake broke

What was GM thinking when they designed this piece......."pot"metal for a piece that will get hot and cold repeatidly[sm=rant.gif].........well any way I got to tackle this WONDERFUL[sm=smiley35.gif] job..............@#$%$#@ @#$#@!............. I went the unconventional way....I DID NOT replace it with one of the same kind....I went old school and bought a hose nipple and cut the end off of the heater hose and clamped it on but I had a [sm=smiley35.gif]of a time getting the rest of the old one out....so me and the dremmel got a work out (YES I KNOW I CONTAMINATED THE COOLING SYSTEM)but I did flush it out so its ALL GOOD but wow what a stupid idea on GMs part
